What is page.viablelearning.org?
The address where VIABLE serves chat pages and courses. Each page is made by a teacher, librarian, researcher or developer on the VIABLE Developer Platform, and runs their agent on their project’s key. The address itself leads here.
Do learners need an account?
No. On a chat page each device is an anonymous visitor. A course asks who learners are the way its teacher chose: a code from a printed card, a typed name or ID, an ID in the link from an LMS, or just this device. No page asks for a password.
Who sees what learners write?
The members of the project that made the page, in its dashboard: each conversation, the work in each activity, and a course’s progress. A course sets what is recorded: answers and time, how learners write, or in detail. A study shows its research notice or asks for consent on the same link, and its export marks every record as inside or outside that consent.
Can the chat be on our own website?
Yes. Paste one line into any website, LibGuides or LibAnswers for a chat button, or use an inline frame in Canvas and other editors that remove scripts. You choose which websites may show it.
Who pays for the AI?
The project that made the page. A chat page runs on the API key its maker chose, within the daily message and spending limits they set; a course runs on its own AI key.
I have an older link on api.viablelab.org.
It still works. It opens the same page here and brings along the chats this browser kept.
