Teach on the VIABLE Learning Platform

Sign in with Google, say what you're teaching, and get a course with a link for your class, with no agents or keys to set up.

The simplest way to teach with VIABLE. teach.viablelearning.org asks for a Google account and nothing else: no agents, keys or models to choose. Use it when you want a class running today.

The rest of this section describes the same courses on the VIABLE Developer Platform, which has more settings. The words on the pages are the same, and a course made in one shows in the other under the same Google account.

Set up a class

  1. Sign in. Open teach.viablelearning.org and continue with Google.
  2. Say what you're teaching. The subject, who it's for, and what they find hard. Ask makes the course and its activities and shows you each step. If you'd rather fill in forms, Courses has them, and the two work on the same course.
  3. Try it as a learner. Try it opens the course as your learners will see it. What you do there stays out of Progress.
  4. Add your class, if you want names. Paste a list on People. Ask gives you a box for it: what you paste there goes straight to the list, and names never reach a model.
  5. Open it. Nothing reaches learners until you press Open it. Ask can propose it, and only your click does it.
  6. Share it. Share has the link, a QR code and the course's code. Learners open the link, or type the code at viablelearning.org. They don't need an account.

What it costs

What Who pays What happens at the end
Setting up with Ask The platform, within a daily limit Ask says so and comes back the next day. Everything else keeps working
Your learners' conversations with the AI Your AI credit Learners can still open their activities, write and answer questions. The AI beside them stops replying, and tells them to let you know

The credit left is on every page. A class of 30 sending 10 messages each uses roughly $0.10 to $0.20. AI credit has a button for asking VIABLE Lab for more.

How your learners sign in

Choose on a course's People page.

Way What it means Good for
Personal codes on cards You print a card for each learner, and only codes on your list open the course Children: nothing to spell, and their work follows the code on any computer
They type their name or student ID The first time, on one device. Anywhere else they use the personal code they are shown then A class that knows its own names
Nobody signs in Each browser is one learner One sitting. On another computer, they are someone new

The two tutors

Each activity with AI uses one of two, and its page says which.

  • Tutor. While a question is open, each reply is checked against the answer key before the learner sees it. Replies take about ten seconds.
  • Quick tutor. No check, so replies come in a few seconds, and one may give an answer away. Use it where there is no answer to give away.

When you'd want the Developer Platform

For agents of your own, knowledge bases, other models, a project with colleagues, and studies with consent and conditions. Sign in at developers.viablelab.org with the same Google account, and your courses are there, in your personal project. What each part of VIABLE is for.

This page is also plain Markdown at /docs/teach/learning-platform.md. Point your AI at /llms.txt to find every page.
